MG Youth and children's Worker (Leeds / Bradford)

Position Details:

  • Full-Time Post – 37 hours a week – Permanent
  • Salary – £24,000 per year
  • Pension – 4% employer contribution

  • Holiday: 25 days, plus statutory bank holidays

We’re looking for a passionate and talented Youth and Children’s Worker to join our growing team in Leeds and Bradford. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to supporting local churches to welcome a generation needing to know Jesus and develop city-wide faith, mission, evangelism and social opportunities for those in the cities of Leeds and Bradford.

What You’ll Do:

You will work as a member of Missional Generation team to support two local churches in planning and developing programs for children, youth, and families. This includes building teams and creating innovative strategies for youth and children’s ministries. In this role, you will be assigned 22 hours per week to work in two Church of England churches doing:

– Midweek discipleship

– School interventions.

– Evening youth group

– After-school clubs 

– 3 Sunday morning / 1 Sunday afternoon group (you get 1 Sunday off a month).

The remaining time will be dedicated to weekly youth and children’s training, line management, and learning communities in the MG team. You will also work with the entire Missional Generation team to develop city-wide youth and children’s termly events, organize local and national camps, and create ministry resources to support those connected to our network.

While the primary focus is on supporting two Leeds parishes, you will also be involved in broader youth and children’s initiatives across Leeds and Bradford.

Missional Generation seeks to equip children and young people to live influential lives for God in all arenas of life. We are a charity that is keen to pioneer and use innovation to see young people come to Jesus. 

Missional Generation is known for its strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative youth and children’s ministry resources. We are a Christian youth and children charity that develops effective resources and weekly provision to help build the church’s confidence to help reach children and young people by employing leaders to help offer weekly investment. We to date are supporting 10 churches and Christian groups to help build teams to develop a dynamic environment where both children and young people can grow rounded young adults, form their own understanding of faith and relationship with Jesus as they create lasting relationships with the local church.

Four key areas of your role will be:

  • Equipping: Resourcing up to three local Churches in Leeds and Bradford by partnering with the Church and their volunteer team to deliver regular sessional provision to 8 to 14 year olds that is tailored and customized to the Church’s vision and needs. We want to recruit a Children’s and Youth Worker who is passionate about investing into local Churches, evangelism and discipleship that leads to missional living.
  • Gathering: Partnering with Christian organisations and churches across Leeds and Bradford as we actively pioneer, innovate, grow and deliver youth gatherings that explore faith in Jesus and missional lifestyle.
  • Resourcing: Innovating and developing new and exciting resources and schemes that strengthens those helping children and young people to grow in faith in Jesus.
  • Praying: Taking time to pray and sense God’s direction both for the charity, churches you will work with and your personal spiritual journey is something we feel is important and therefore we want you to make space to encounter Jesus and be spirit-led.
